For those of you who are wondering what Pirates of the Caribbean has to do with all of this, I am a big fan and last summer, Princess had to haave an eye removed due to advanced glaucoma so she became a "pirate" dog. She never got her official eye patch though.

When I started this blog, my beautiful Golden retriever Princes was undergoing treatment for cancer. Princess passed to the Rainbow bridge on April 2, 2007 just one week short of her 14th birthday. My husband gave Princes to me as an early 40th birthday present where she become a cherished member of our family. She grew up with our son Stephen as well as her best buddy Critter, an orange tabby cat who waltzed into our house on Christmas day in 1993 and decided he liked it there and stayed. Who was I to kick out a Christmas gift with legs?!
